Healthy Teeth During Pregnancy

dental supply companyTaking proper care of one’s health should always be a concern, but when you’re with child, you’re even more inclined to remain in tip-top shape. Your teeth are no exception! After the baby is born, you’ll feel like you’re being attacked by the paparazzi with all the photographs being taken of you and your new bundle of joy. It’s time to get those teeth pearly white and clean.

Unfortunately, teeth whitening during your pregnancy isn’t recommended. There are actually no proven risks to whitening but this is one of those “better safe than sorry” scenarios. Why take the risk? That doesn’t mean you can’t find other ways to keep your smile sparkling. Brushing and flossing is always super important, especially since many women will experience sore and bleeding gums. In between your ritual brushings, chew sugarless gum or snack on nuts and cheese to reduce plaque buildup. This will not only help your teeth, but keep your sore gums at bay.

Investing in quality dental hygiene products will actually increase the likelihood of a healthier pregnancy and baby. Poor oral hygiene has actually been linked to  premature births. Once the baby is born, you’ll have all the time in the world to worry about the whiteness of your teeth. For now stick with the routine dental hygiene products!
